Compare the same cargo, handover points and cost scope before choosing a method.
Sea freight: FCL or LCL
For larger volumes and flexible delivery needs, ask for a sea-freight review. FCL uses a dedicated container; LCL shares container space with other cargo. Provide packed volume, gross weight, package count and stacking limits. Ask about origin handling, destination handling and delivery as separate cost items.
Air freight: review chargeable weight
Air freight can be considered for time-sensitive cargo after acceptance checks. Ask which volumetric factor and rounding rules the quotation uses, and whether collection and final delivery are included. Do not compare a flight duration directly with a door-to-door estimate.
Express: review each parcel
Share each parcel’s contents, value, gross weight and dimensions. Ask about size limits, remote-area charges and recipient responsibilities for the proposed service. Express eligibility depends on the goods and destination; a small parcel is not automatically accepted.
Compare the complete journey
Use one cargo list and the same pickup and delivery addresses for every option. Separate cargo-ready date, warehouse preparation, departure, main transport, destination processing and final delivery. Request the quote validity and list of unconfirmed items. Split urgent goods only after checking the extra packing, documents and handling costs.

Example: urgent items within a larger order
Suppose two items are needed early while the rest of the order can wait. Ask to compare sending everything together with sending the two items separately, using the same underlying cargo details. This structures the comparison; it does not establish an available or cheaper route.
- Identify packages, weight and dimensions for each group rather than estimating a share of the total weight.
- Compare the required date, delivery point and charges for each dispatch.
- Review added separation, repacking, documentation and delivery work before choosing.
