Volumetric weight
Some services consider package size as well as actual weight. The calculation and divisor depend on the service and carrier.
Door to door
Describes pickup and delivery scope; it does not automatically mean duties or taxes are included. Check the quote details.
Cubic metres (CBM)
A cubic metre measures volume, not weight. For a rectangular package, multiply length by width by height in metres. Example: a 60 × 40 × 50 cm carton occupies 0.12 m³; ten cartons of those dimensions total 1.2 m³. Measure again if the packaging changes.
Net and gross weight
Net weight is the weight of the goods without packaging. Gross weight includes the goods and packaging. State whether your figure includes a pallet or crate, and give the unit and package count so a single item’s weight is not confused with the whole shipment.
Chargeable weight
This is the weight a provider uses to calculate its transport charge. Actual and dimensional weight may be compared; the calculation and rounding depend on the service. Ask for the formula, units and any minimum used in your quote, rather than converting volume to weight with an unconfirmed factor.
Commercial invoice and packing list
A commercial invoice describes the goods, their value and the parties to the transaction. A packing list records how goods are packed, including package marks, weights and dimensions. Check that descriptions, quantities and references agree across both documents; having them does not by itself establish that a shipment’s requirements are complete.
Inquiry reference and carrier reference
A Gulf4WD inquiry reference identifies the quote request submitted through this website. It is not a carrier tracking number or booking confirmation. If the shipment is confirmed, ask the service team for the carrier reference and available tracking link, and use the appropriate reference when following up.
Quotation validity and scope
Quote validity identifies the period for considering acceptance under its stated conditions. Scope identifies the stages, work and charges included or excluded. Check the currency and cargo details used for pricing, and request a review if quantities, dimensions or the delivery destination change.
