Turn a deadline into a reviewable plan
State three separate dates: supplier readiness, preferred arrival and the last useful receiving date. Explain whether every item is urgent or whether essential pieces can be separated. This supports review of an urgent partial shipment with the remaining goods following later, where splitting is suitable and available.
Ask how chargeable weight was determined
When reviewing the quote, ask for the packed gross weight, volume and weight used for pricing. If packaging changes or a pallet is added, send the new measurements before accepting the quote. Do not reuse a volumetric factor from another service; ask for the calculation used for the option being offered.
